The Different Types 3D Printing

3D printing is today’s great innovation that makes a huge difference in the world of mnaufacturing and printing. Also known as the additive manufacturing in which things are created in many thin layers. The process involved here is the creation of three dimensional objects based on a digital object. That said, thin layers are actually the additive material. Ferndale 3d printing is contrary to the conventional method of printing which utilizes subtractive processes such as cutting, carving and drilling.

3D printing is widely used for specific areas such as jewellery making, footwear manufacturing, industrial designing, engineering, automotive, aerospace, architecture, education, medical industry and even information systems. There is also the rising use of 3D printing in other fields because of its great uses and advantages. The first 3D printer was actually based on stereolithography? This was actually invented in 1984 by Charles Hull in which these devices are positioned on a platform that is perforated. This stereolithographic 3D printer is situated below the vat of liquid photopolymer in which a UV laser beam will then trace the desired outline for the initial slicing process on the liquid surface which will result to the hardening of the photopolymer. The platform that is perforated is slightly lowered and then the second slicing process follows and again the photopolymer is hardened by the laser, which is repeatedly done until the desired object is completely and successfully printed out.

Finally, the object can be removed from the vat photopolymer and then any excess liquid is drained and then the object is cured. These type of 3D printers are considered the most accurate types of printing devices that the output can be built at a thickness of only 0.063mm. There is also another 3D printing technology type that uses vat polymerization which is the selective process of hardening a tank of liquid known as DLP projection. As the name suggests, a projector is utilized to solidify the layers of the desired object to be printed one at a time at each cross-section. Another technique is the material jetting or popularly known as polyjet matrix in which this 3D printing technology uses a light source to harden the liquid photopolymer.

Then Ferndale 3dxindustries is just the right printing service for you. this printing industry is the best printing industry to avail their services so if you plan on having a 3 dimensional model, then choosing this printing industry is an absolute must. But having a 3 dimensional model is not that simple you should keep in mind that a desirable 3 dimensional model are useful, durable, accurate and pleasing to one’s eyes, these are one of the few tips that you should keep in mind in making a 3 dimensional model.

The first tip in making your 3 dimensional model is that you have to Mind your design although the skills of these 3 dimensional printers is pretty remarkable, they still depend on the data that being given to them. like a 2 dimensional printer works, they depend on the data that is been given to them then they work and print the product based on the data given to them. This system of creating a 2 dimensional model is also the same in creating a 3 dimensional model. They will have to look at the 2 dimensional design and create the 3 dimensional model basing on the 2 dimensional design in order to have the final results, In having a good 3 dimensional product you need to consult how they can print the design, make sure that all of the measurements of the product is precise and accurate in order to have a excellent product.

The second tip in making your 3 dimensional model is that you have to keep it simple, we have this famous saying that simplicity is beauty, likewise in 3 dimensional printing that saying is also applicable. Printing a simple shape is faster and much more cheaper than the very complex 3 dimensional design. A lot of people do not know that a 3 dimensional printing task is actually different from one of the other depending the complexity and the materials used in making the model. The third tip in Making your 3 dimensional model is that you have to establish your financial budget, Having a 3 dimensional model is expensive most of the 3 dimensional printing services uses high quality materials in making a 3 dimensional model. and this could be the main reason why that a 3 dimensional printing is expensive. Ferndale 3d printing in Metal Tips and Considerations

Metal it is one of the most durable materials to use in today’s 3 dimensional printing because of its durability and sheen although Ferndale 3d printing in metal has its own set of exceptions, since metal is a material quite different from plastic. It has processes and additional techniques used in order to make an accurate exquisite product. In order to create a 3 dimensional metal model there are tips that you may need to apply when working on a 3 dimensional metal model.

First is that you have to set the details aside printing a 3 dimensional model is quite different from any other materials used in 3 dimensional printing in metal because it involves more complex processes than a normal 3 dimensional metal printing. The first step in creating a 3 dimensional model is that it would be laying out the base shape which is followed then by another process that fills in every details in the model. It is essential that you have to submit two different design for your 3 dimensional model in this way the the 3 dimensional printing services will know every detail in your 3 dimensional metal printing  and will come up a design 100% to your 3 dimensional metal printing.

The second tip in creating a 3 dimensional metal printing is that you have to mind the edges, this is except if the model itself is a 3 dimensional replication of a knife, or a sword. It is best that when printing a 3 dimensional metal you have to use knife edges in your overall design this is to prevent your model from breaking apart, make sure that the tips are rounded and dull.

The third tip in creating a 3 dimensional metal printing is that you have to round the internal edges apart from the knife edges breaking easily, sharp intersections also compromises the durability of the product. The fourth tip in creating a 3 dimensional metal printing is that you have to provide enough surface area, not having an adequate surface area will always compromise the movement of the model in which it will affect the durability and integrity of the product. having an adequate surface area will give your product movement in their hinges and making your product durable. Ferndale 3d printing in metal  is the right metal printing service for you they offer you an excellent service when it comes to printing in metal.

Best dddx in Ferndale WA

3d metal printing is not really a popular thing in the world. It is a newcomer in the industry of printing. If you are asking what is a 3d metal print. It is all about making your usual 2d printing into 3d metal models. This makes dddxin ferndale wa printing devices busy with all their clients. If you too are planning to have some kind of 3d model. There are quite few tips to keep in mind in order to utilize such use of 3D printing.

Have an original design of your model. Although 3D printers are impressive already in their work but they still rely in the data and the blueprint you want to make on your 3D model. It is similar in 2D printing where 2D printers would also rely in the data that is given to them. 3D printers would look at 2D model sign to look at to etch every specific detail for the final product. Just make sure that the measurements you are going to make are correct and is accurate so the integrity of the model will not be compromised.

When starting your own 3D model it is recommended to start your 1st model with simple geometric designs. Keeping it simple would avoid the complications of your 3D model designs. I suggest that you should not overwork your 3D model when you are still in the beginner stage. Starting in a simple way helps you get the idea of how 3D printing feels and how it works. A lot of beginner 3D printers do not know that every 3D model is unique from every other 3D models because of the complexity of the design of the materials used to make the 3D model. The more you work with 3D models and make them the more you understand and you can explore the more complex and expensive options in making a 3D model.

The next thing you are going to consider is your budget in making 3D models. You have to keep in mind that making 3D models is not cheap and comes expensive. It is very different in 2D printing. It uses thin sheets in making a 3D model. Apart from the materials being used, the price is also based in the complexity of the design of the 3D model. It is considered that the best in this aspect is dddx in Ferndale WA.

3D Printing has become a great innovation in the world of printing. This is also known as additive manufacturing which covers different various processes of creating three dimensional objects or forms from any electronic data with the use of additive processes in which the printers deposit the material layer by layer that amazingly results to a solid object. Additive manufacturing is its common process in which the objects are formed in layers from the bottom and up. Plastic is the common component use for printing but other options can include metal, ceramics, sand and even chocolate and sugar. Using the latest technologies, the 3D printer comes in the form of an industrial robot.

As U.S. president Barack Obama have stated, “3D printing has the potential to revolutionize the way we make almost everything,” 3D printing has made huge possibilities such as printing intricate jewelries, customizing musical instruments and prosthetic limbs. Known as one the culprits, 3D printing sis one of the culprits of mass production that easy shopping is made possible along with the idea that you won’t have to shop at all. It was also speculated that you could buy the rights for printing and have one simply printed at home that conveniently. As you might have wondered as to how 3D printing works, this starts by making a virtual design of the thing to be created. The design is made thru a Computer Aided Design file with use of either a 3D modeling program or a 3D scanner. This scanner makes a digital copy of the scanner in 3D and then puts it in the modeling program.

5 Useful Things You Can Create With a 3D Printing Service

By heading on a Ferndale 3D Printing service and handing out your design, you can expect to see your concepts come into life with every turn of the printer. As of now, there is no limit as to what you can make with a 3d printer. In fact, you can create a lot of useful items with the help of it. Below are a few useful objects that you can make with 3D printing technology.

1. Locks

3d printers today are capable of creating locks that are quite effective and albeit simpler in design. With a little bit of ingenuity and creativity, you may be able to come up with a design that allows for multiple moving objects inside the lock to be assembled once everything has been printed. The only thing that you have to make sure is that the 3D printing service uses thick sheets of high quality plastic like Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene Plastic (also known as ABS plastic) to come up with a lock that is as durable as conventional locks.

2. Mechanical Parts

A lot of individuals have used 3D Printing technology to print out plastic replacement parts for their mechanical systems. Whether it is nails, fan blades or gears, 3D printing services are able to come up with replacement parts for any equipment, engine and device. However, it is important to remember that plastic does warp, regardless of its durability, under constant stress, heat and friction. This means that these parts might have to be replaced continually or, better yet, used sparingly.

3. Kitchenware

Kitchen utensils and tools are one of the few objects in the market that can make an easy transition to 3D printing. The reason is quite simple: they are made of the same material used in 3D printing albeit created differently. With 3D printing services, you can create plastic forks, spoons, knives and measuring cups for various uses. The best thing about this is that 3D printing has a high rate of accuracy which means that the problems in creating plastic kitchenware are minimized or removed entirely.

4. Various Holders

Got a problem holding all your grocery bags in one hand? A 3D printer can help you print out a solution. Holding fixtures are one of the easier objects to print in a 3D printer as they are quite simple in design. From towel holders, guitar pick holders, straps for earphones and even door stoppers, the 3D printing services can churn out something that will make your daily activities all easier to complete.

5. Weapons

Though this is still highly debatable and controversial, there is a way to create a fully functioning weapon with the help of 3D printers. Consisting of various parts and mechanism, 3D guns have yet to be tested for their reliability in emergency situations. Thus, it is best not to dabble in this option if you have no license to carry a firearm or have no prior experience in using one.

The services of a Ferndale 3D printing service can create something very reliable and highly durable from your designs and concepts. The only thing you have to do is to submit the design and watch as the printing services bring it to life.

Designing 3D Metal Models effectively: 5 Tips to Keep in Mind

One of the best materials to use today in 3D printing is metal due to its durability and sheen. However, Ferndale 3D printing in metal has its own set of considerations since it uses a material that is quite different from plastic. In addition, it has additional processes and techniques used in order to create an accurate final product. To make the most out of this service, there are a few tips you need to follow when designing the 3D model.

Give Support in the Green State

There will be a time in the process when the 3D model enters a “green” state where it is quite weak and fragile. Being made out of steel dust glued together, the finished product will have the consistency of wet sand. Since the model is quite weak, it cannot be molded further or even held. Thus, it is best that you design a simple support model for the finished product. Using simple geometric shapes, you can have the printer service use this support to give your 3D model enough time to harden for detailing.

Set the Details Aside

Metal 3D printing is quite unique in the sense that it involves more processes than normal. The first process would involve laying out the base shape which is then followed by another process which fills in the details of the model. To make it easier for the 3D printing services, it is a good idea that you submit two different designs for your model, one for its base shape and the other for its details. This way, they will know which way to go first and come up with a model that is 100% accurate to your design.

Mind the Edges

Unless the model is a 3D replication of a sword or any sharp object, it is best that you refrain from using too many knife edges in your design. Keep in mind that metal is quite hard. Thus, having too many sharp edges will make the 3D model uncomfortable to move around. Plus, sharp edges tend to chip and crack easily during the green phase. To prevent your model from breaking, smooth out the edges with 1mm fillet. If the model calls for spikes, juts and any other long sharp edge, make sure that the tips are round and dull.

Round Internal Edges

Aside from the knife edges, sharp internal edges tend to break easily especially if they are near an interlocking point. Sharp intersections in the internal angles tend to break easily which compromises your 3D model’s integrity. Before the model is printed, you must make sure that the edges are smoothed out. If they are still sharp on the final product, you can always smooth it out with a 1mm fillet.

Provide Adequate Surface Area

Whenever your design calls for interlocking points, joints and hinges, you might have to give each surface between the parts enough area to move around. Tight connections will always compromise the movement of the model which, in turn, ruins its integrity. A clearance area of at between 0.2 and 0.4 mm is ideal for many services that off Ferndale 3D printing in metal. This way, the connecting points do not wear each other out in time.

Getting Your 3D Model Done Right with 3DX Industries

3D metal printing is really all about making turning your 2D designs into accurate 3D models. This is why several 3D printing services like Ferndale 3DX Industries are able to get a constant stream of clients itching to have something that is either useful, durable, accurate or just plain nice to look at. If you are planning to avail of such services, there are quite a few tips you need to keep in mind in order to make full use of 3D printing. Here are some of them.

Mind Your Design

Though the abilities of 3D printers are quite impressive as of now, they still rely on the data being fed to them to come up with something of great value. Just like how 2D printers rely on data to print something, a 3D printer will have to look at a 2D model design to etch out every detail in the final product.

In order to have a good final product, you need to consult with the 3D printing services as to how they can print out your design. If you have any experience in 3D modeling, you can use this to come up with your very own custom model design. Just make sure that the measurements are correct so as not to compromise the model’s integrity.

Keep It Simple

Most 3D modeling services would recommend that you start out with very simple geometric designs for your first few job orders. The reason is quite simple: printing a simple shape is far quicker and cheaper compared to an elaborate 3D model. For instance, you can start with a simple plastic cube or coat hanger and then move on to elaborate metal rings, figurines and the like.

Plus, starting simple can help you get an idea on how 3D printing feels. A lot of individuals do not know that every 3D printing job differs greatly from one another depending on the material used and the complexity of their design. The more you understand how the 3D printing actually works, you can then explore on other complex and expensive options.

Establish Your Budget

If there is one thing that you need to know about 3D printing, it would be that that it doesn’t come cheap. Reliable 3D printing services actually uses a wide variety of high-quality materials for every print job they take. For plastic printing jobs, they would use a durable variant of ABS plastic so that the final product does not break or warp easily.

For 3D metal printing, the service will use sheets of steel dust as they are more compatible with the printing process. Also, steel dust is quite harder to come by than conventional metal sheets hence the high price. Apart from materials, the complexity of a design will also play a part in the final price of their services.

In order to make full use of the work of companies like Ferndale 3DX Industries, you need to determine what materials are needed for your job. Fortunately, most 3D printing services are able to help you adjust the budget of your projects accordingly by letting you explore other options. This will help you maximize your budget while still ensuring an accurate and durable final product.

Designing a Model for 3D Printing: 5 Tips to Keep in Mind

3D printing technology has improved significantly in the last few years to the point that any person can easily create anything with the help of a 3D printer. In short, you think of anything you want and the services on 3D manufacturing in Ferndale WA will do the rest of bringing it to life. However, the printer must be able to read from a good design in order to print out a good 3D model. To make this possible, below are 3D model designing tips that you need to keep in mind.

Keep the 45-Degree Rule

In architecture, there is always that rule that states that any fixture that will hang at 45 Degrees and above will require extra support. The reason for this is because this angle tends to shift the objects entire weight forward, causing it to topple over. To prevent this from happening, you need to design additional supports to your model. Objects like cones and beams are easily translated in the 3d printing process, making them ideal supports to your design.

Know the Printer’s Limits

Even if 3D Printing is quite advanced, it is not without its limits. A conventional 3D printer might have problems in distinguishing small design features, making the overall result bland and blocky. Depending on the printer’s nozzle, you might encounter thread width issues in the process which leads to incomplete details. Know first what the printing service is capable off before submitting any design. Through this, you can make changes to your model design way before the object will be printed.

Mind the Fit Tolerance

Whenever your 3D model has interlocking parts, you might have to deal with the tolerance levels in each part. One of the biggest issues with any interlocking part is that it is quite weak at the connecting points if not designed properly. To counter this, have at least a 0.2mm offset in between the connecting points for a tight fit or a 0.4mm offset for a loose fit. Always give the interlocking parts enough space to move around without causing too much friction at both ends.

Orient

Like in 2D printing, the way you orient a 3D model prior to printing will lead to very different results. If the model has several detailed features, make sure that the orientation is capable of bringing out those features in the features in the final product. Also, the right orientation will minimize stress in certain models with minimal base support. s

Mind the Gap

Unless you are making miniature chairs, it is best that you refrain from making gaps in between your 3D model. The 3D printer often has problems in distinguishing gaps from actual design features which results in a very messy final product. Keep in mind that these “extra” marks are quite difficult and time consuming to remove especially if the 3D model is quite small.

To prevent blemishes in the process of 3D manufacturing in Ferndale WA, it is best that you make simpler design features or design it in such a way that it can be divided into parts for assembly. Either way, you can have a very flawless 3D presentation of your design once the 3D printing services are done with it.

Bellingham WA, May 20, 2014 – 3DX Industries Inc. (OTCQB: DDDX) 3DX Industries Inc.,  (the “Company” or “3DX”) is pleased to announce  it has completed its first series of production run components using the M-FlexTM Metal Printing System manufactured by The ExOne Company. The ExOne Company (“ExOne”) is a global provider of three-dimensional ("3D") printing machines and printed products to industrial customers.  3DX Industries has now printed numerous 3D Metal components and parts for clients use in the food processing industry, green energy generation sector as well as various other industries.

“Having the ability to generate working prototype parts for our customers within a matter of a few days really shows the power and flexibility of the M-FlexTM metal printing system,” comments 3DX President and CEO Roger Janssen.  “We have now shown our customers that we can take their computer aided design (CAD) generated files and create working prototypes for their evaluation and testing as well as provide finished parts for their immediate use without the time delays and tooling costs inherent in conventional manufacturing processes.  We look forward to continuing our introduction of this exciting technology to our current and future customers” adds Mr. Janssen.

3DX’s M-FlexTM metal printing system from ExOne,  uses an additive manufacturing process, otherwise known as three-dimensional printing, or 3DP, which materializes an object—or mold for an object—layer by layer out of powdered material, a chemical binder and a digital file(1).  The process is also referred to as Binder Jetting Technology.  The ability to offer clients the option of manufacturing their products using Binder Jetting Technology provided by the M-FlexTM metal printing system will not only save on production costs but also will save time on the engineering and evaluation aspects relative to new and redesigned product manufacturing.  The ability to make immediate changes within a CAD file, and have those changes sent directly to the print floor will change the way companies bring products to market.

Mr. Janssen further comments “We could not be more excited about this technology and the positive impact it will make within the manufacturing industry.  The M-FlexTM 3D metal printing system met our expectations and we have received nothing but positive responses on the products we have delivered to date.  We are planning to increase our exposure across additional industries over the coming weeks with the intent of identifying other areas where this additive manufacturing process can be applied.”

About the Company: 3DX Industries, Inc. is focused on the additive metal manufacturing segment within the manufacturing industry.  3DX has the capability of manufacturing a wide variety of products using its 3D metal printing system, 3D composite printing as well as more traditional methods of precision manufacturing. 3DX offers additive and traditional manufacturing services as well as product design, engineering and assembly services to its customers.
